Have you considered being a Soulwinner? It's not really a title or an office, just something in which God places high value. After all God paid a high price for the salvation of the lost and He is well pleased when we lead someone to His Son.
Proverbs 11:30 says, "The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise." This verse in Proverbs makes a statement about wisdom. An emphasis on wisdom is highlighted in Proverbs and wisdom is also defined in Proverbs. "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding." Proverbs 4:7. God says that a soul winner is wise and wisdom is the principal thing for the believer.
How does a Christian go about winning souls? You can't know who will be won to Christ because God still handles the hard part through the work of the Holy Spirit. True conviction of the lost condition of the recipient of the gospel is the work of the Holy Spirit, but God allows us the privilege of getting in on the process. In Ecclesiastes 11:1-6 we get an understanding of the process. "Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days. Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth." You can't know the condition of the hearts of those you offer the gospel. Verse 3 says, "If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth:" We have no lack of material to offer the lost. Verse 3 continues, "and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there shall it be." Wherever the gospel lands, that's where it should be. Verse 4 says, " He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap." If we consider circumstances when, where and how we sew the seed we can become paralyzed in analysis and won't act. Observing circumstances, peoples opinions or any other distraction keeps the Christian from soul winning. Verses 5,6 say, "As thou knowest what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all. In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether both shall be alike good".
Jesus Himself was a soul winner. His next to last act was to win a soul to Himself. Luke 23: 40-43 says, "But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost thou not fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our own deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day thou shalt be with me in paradise," It was important to Jesus, even in the anguish and suffering, to win a soul to Himself. Soul winning is often inconvenient. It's often uncomfortable. You may be criticized by both the lost and the brethren. How you do it may be criticized. Why you do it may be questioned. But, all of that comes from the unwise. " he that winneth souls is wise".
Daniel 12:3 says, "and they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever."
There are a lot of discouraged Christians who have given up on finding a good church to attend. Many areas don't have a church with teaching that seems right. There are thousands of websites that will give you information on thousands of topics about the Christian faith. Which do you choose? Who do you follow? What doctrine is correct? It's tough. The Devil is really good at confusion. However, some things are easy to figure out. One of them is that there are a lot of lost people in our world and we may be one of the few who will tell them about our Savior. Certainly, the most important knowledge they should have is a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. If you can't get information that you can count on, you can count on this...handing someone a tract will always the be the right thing to do. Order a box. After you hand someone a tract, you will forever be glad you did. I promise!!!!!!!!!!
Don't forget to go to our new Home page. There's a great video to watch about a distribution in St. Augustine, Fl.
We just received news that a batch of Kristin tracts have just been sent to the Philippines. We are very excited that people in that country will be reached for Christ with tracts. Please pray for a good harvest.
Youth groups from two different Bible believing churches went to the streets of St. Augustine, Fl on Saturday to hand out tracts to a vacationing crowd. There were anti-Trump supporters who were not very open to receiving tracts, but many took them anyway. Several types of tracts were distributed including about two hundred Kristin tracts. It was estimated that over a thousand tracts were distributed in about two hours. We are grateful for the blessing of being a part of such an effort. The youth (AGES10-20) were very polite yet not intimated. The Lord was lifted up. we are praying for the effectiveness of the tracts and that God's word would not come back void.
Friends of Kristin:
I was walking Chambers Bay Golf Course last Sunday and found the brochure Gone “ in the twinkling of an eye” with a picture of Kriston & the yellow flower. I read it all, twice.
I really appreciate the person that left the Kristin brochure on the park bench which overlooks Puget Sound. It touched me.
Kristin was a beautiful person and her life has not stopped. She is alive and with the Lord and Savior. We will see her again.
I would like to know if I can get 100 of the brochures and if so what is the cost.
Carol was able to witness to a lady who sat next to her on a plane who is having trouble with her drug addicted son. Great blessing. Also, I was able to hand out a few tracts, one to a couple of young sisters. They were probably preteen, traveling alone. They slowly and deliberately read the tract and appeared to be praying the prayer together. They huddled with their heads together and were very quiet and one kept looking over the shoulder of the other at me. I was sitting a row behind across the aisle. My hope is that they were actually getting saved. I asked a lady on a shuttle if she liked to read. When she said yes, I handed her a tract which she put in her purse. Across the way a man who turned out to be her husband refused the tract calling it propaganda. Hope she will read the tract and even read it to him. We probably gave out about ten tracts on that two day trip. Not bad, but we can do better.
People don't believe we care just because we say it. We just heard a torrent of promises from Presidential candidates about how much they care. We also hear from family members who tell us how much they care. Do they actually just say it or do they show it. The real "caring" Christians who have any concern about the souls of the lost will show it by attempting to lead others to Christ. I've heard the reasons why people don't try. How hard is it to hand someone a tract? I have seen children hand people tracts. What are these Christians afraid of? Are they totally uncaring? I don't believe that. I believe they are intimidated, shy, unsteady in their faith, fearful, lazy, distracted, apathetic, selfish, over worked, tired, etc. It goes on. In the meantime someone goes to Hell.
Take a look at these tracts. Get a few and give it a try. I promise that you will love the outcome. Just the act of giving someone a gospel tract, no matter the outcome, will give you a sense of belonging and participation in the greatest cause offered to mankind itself, by God Himself. Get involved in the solution to all of our problems. The saving grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Since Christmas is past, it's time to get ready for the new year. This morning, at the nursing home, I preached a message about New Year's resolutions. I thought it appropriate to preach about patience. If anyone needs patience it's nursing home residents. They are in perpetual care, waiting for someone to attend to their needs. This is a place where needs continue to be renewed. They are always needful. We, who are healthy, are always wantful (is that a word). Being wantful carries an adjective, impatience. Either way impatience probably should give way to patience. We live under some interesting opposites. We are to be patient yet look forward to the return of our Savior. I'm getting a little impatient for that. I want it now!
Hmmm, oh well, still here.
In the meantime, while we patiently wait, others who are lost keep dying in their sins. We have a responsibility here. Dying in sin is not necessary and we should say so to as many people as possible. We can say it verbally or in writing. God chooses to communicate to us through His word. It's in writing. Why not carry that forward. Using a tract is helpful. It's concise, clear and direct. Using a tract that someone will read is also important. I have seen many tracts that, quite frankly, offend me. I'm a Christian and I cringe at the approach some people use to attempt to win someone to Christ. Paul talked about persuading some. Being persuasive begins by someone listening. Nobody listens to offensive language. The Kristin tract gets past the first barrier to persuasion. They begin to read a story that is not offensive. It offers a message of hope that is not offensive. It offers scripture that may offend some, but not all. It offers a prayer of redemption. It offers scriptures of assurance of salvation. Get a new box of tracts. Give them all out as soon as possible. If He comes soon at least a few more will get in.
I had to post a second blog because of this story I just read. This situation seems impossible, but it gives us a glimpse of just how evil Satan is and how influencial this evil can be.
A mother in Syria was video taped in a burka hugging her seven year old daughter goodbye. The Jihadist father is seen hugging her also. Underneath her clothes is a bomb vest. She will soon enter a police station where the father will remotely detonate the bomb carried by his daughter, killing and wounding those inside the station.
Many will say that we must kill the supremely evil people. I don't disagree, but our assignment is to lead others to Christ. Most Christians have abandoned that assignment or never accepted it. Shame on us. We aren't getting the job done. A born again believer wouldn't do this to his daughter. .... Order some tracts. Give them to someone.
