Secular Article Wins Applause From Christians

I write articles for an online website called thinkadvisor.com. It supports financial advisors. My articles are usually about prospecting for clients, but I took a chance with my last article and wrote about the challenges of losing a child and how that relates to being motivated to continue life as normal. I received some great comments and some were about Jesus Christ. That article proved that when discussing our faith with respect for the hearer, many are still receptive.

Many of you are struggling with issues of life. You may have experienced divorce, financial collapse, health emergencies, kid problems, grandkid problems or any other kind of emotional and physically draining catastrophes. It's OK. I am a goal oriented, ambitious person and losing Kristin drained me of all of that. I had to function for about an hour at a time. I refused to plan further than that. Looking too far ahead paralyzed me and I simply became dysfunctional. I've never dealt with any type of drugs including alcohol but I grew up in an alcoholic household. I pent may nights at an alcoholics meeting. I've heard the concept of narrowing your focus to the shortest time frame that is manageable. A goal that can be accomplished may be even minutes. You will naturally expand in time, but that's not the goal. 'Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof", Matthew 6:34

The Lord himself admonishes us to stay in now. Later will be cared for. i like to accomplish something every day even if it's trimming the bushes. That only takes about an hour and I'm away from people. People expect more from you than Jesus does. Live with His expectations. After all you are His and He won't mistreat His own.
